Nikolai II is a one of a kind vessel. Built in 1903 in the Hietalahti shipyard, Nikolai II is the oldest ship yet in Helsinki that still operates with its own engine. Up to 114 years of service, the ship has served many different purposes. Originally operated as a fishing and marine research ship, mapping the seas all the way up to the Barents Seas, it has also served as a hospital boat during WWI.
Since 20 years ago, Nikolai II has settled down and been serving customers through a Cafe & Restaurant and in 2012 was modernized with a newly renovated kitchen, and a beautiful sun deck.
Today, the vessel offers a bed & breakfast service.
